This is a disorder of chronic widespread pain in the muscles and joints. The specific cause of this disease is unknown, but there are some prominent theories. Symptoms may be widespread pain, fatigue, needle-like tingling of the skin, muscle aches, nerve pain, bowel disturbances and chronic sleep disturbances.

Most likely there are a multitude of factors that contribute to this disease, so it would take a multi-disciplinary approach to correct this problem. Before we treat the patient for fibromyalgia, we must first discover if they are truly suffering from it. There are some other problems which can manifest themselves as “fibromyalgia” and many times that is what we will treat. If it is truly a fibromyalgia patient, then we will utilize a combination of acupuncture, chiropractic, nutrition/herbs, pain lasers and physical therapy to treat the condition. Many times, the person has been suffering in pain for a long time, and there is emotional component to the fibromyalgia as well. Many studies also show the effectiveness of bio-feedback with treatment as wells. For this reason, we also refer out to a local pain therapist, who specializes in this bio-feedback treatment.

It's easy to give up, when you have this condition because so many medical treatments do not work for this.

The reason is that 100% of medical treatments are focussed on either providing a drug to cover up the symptoms or cutting out a body part that could be causing the pain.
